Take Your Dog Anywhere Classes

In-person Dog Training Near Newmarket & Bury St Edmunds

Summer is Coming.  Longer evenings. Pub gardens. Days out. Café visits and BBQs - Will you be taking your dog with you... or leaving them at home because it's easier?

If the idea of that sounds lovely but slightly unrealistic with your dog right now, this is where you start

The Take Your Dog Anywhere Classes are deisgned to build the real-life skills that make Café visits, camping trips, calm walks and everyday outings actually possible.

In-person classes in Chevington (daytime) and Chedburgh (evenings), between Newmarket & Bury St Edmunds
Small groups. Ethical, positive reinforcement training.

What These Classes Are Really About

In these classes, we build the habits that make life with your dog possible.

✔️We teach dogs how to settle when nothing is happening instead of searching for the next thing to do.
✔️We build lead skills that are about staying connected, not being held tight.
✔️We put structure around recall so it becomes a pattern, not a hopeful shout.
✔️We practice calm at doors and around roads so everyday safety becomes routine rather than luck.

When those pieces are in place, café visits become possible. Walks feel different. Even simple things like chatting to someone at the gate feel different.

In the Foundations blocks, we build the underlying skills that make everything else possible. Clear communication. Calm behaviour. Lead work that feels connected rather than restrictive. Recall that’s structured properly. Settling that makes sense to the dog.

This is where your Anywhere journey begins.

Real Life Skills

Most people assume dogs “just learn” how to behave out and about.

They don’t.

Calm in public, loose lead walking, waiting at doors, reliable recall, settling at Cafés  - these don't come naturally. They’re skills.

Our foundation classes is where you and your dog learn the language of training. Clear communication. Reward timing. Calm before movement.

Structure before distraction.

We don’t try to “complete” these skills in one block.

We lay them correctly.

Some dogs will need longer in Foundations. Some will progress into the next stage sooner.

The pace depends on the dog, not the calendar.

Who is this for?

These foundation classes are designed for any dog who:

✅Is unable to settle or focus in public settings
✅Does not understand the meaning of a leisurely walk
✅Rushes through open doorways or into the road
✅Is missing out on family adventures
✅Is able to work calmly in a small group setting (5 dogs max)

This is not a class for dogs with significant reactivity or behavioural concerns around other dogs or people.

If your dog struggles in group environments, please get in touch – we may recommend starting with 1:1 training to help set you up for future group success.

What Comes Next?

Once the foundations are steady, we move into structured progression blocks.

These sessions begin introducing more movement, more environmental challenge and more realistic scenarios — gradually and deliberately.

This is where we start bridging the gap between training and real life.

Only when a dog can manage those stages calmly do we move into the Anywhere Club.

The Anywhere Club

The Anywhere Club isn’t a shortcut.

It’s for dogs who have already developed:

• Reliable focus in distracting environments
• Lead skills that hold up with movement around them
• The ability to settle when required
• Reliable door & road Manners
• Calm settles that are progressing well

Sessions are held in real locations around Chevington, Chedburgh, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds - parks, open spaces and café-style environments.

The purpose isn’t to “test” dogs.

It’s to practice calmly in the places that matter.

Foundations build the skills.
Progression strengthens them.
The Anywhere Club uses them.

That’s the order.

Tracy Hancock

Welcome to Dogwarts K9 Academy — where stressed-out dog parents finally overcome training struggles and fall back in love with their dogs through pressure-free, fun techniques that deliver real, lasting results.

While I help dogs of all breeds, I specialise in Cockapoos and cases of reactivity and anxiety — supporting these sensitive pups and their guardians to transform challenging behaviours into calm confidence.

When you work with me, you get the kind of training your dog would choose if they could pick — because my approach teaches you to truly understand your dog, speak their language, and uncover the real meaning behind their behaviour.   This creates an unbreakable bond of trust that unlocks incredible progress — results that don’t just meet expectations, they surpass them.

I never use aversive methods or intimidation — you can trust that your training will always be judgement-free, pressure-free, and fear-free.  Instead, I teach fun, engaging techniques your dog relates to and enjoys, putting the joy back into your training sessions and making your results truly unstoppable.

Together, we break it all down — discovering your dog’s go-to responses, uncovering hidden triggers (which might surprise you), and rebuilding hope and harmony into your lives.

From Cockapoos who struggle with reactivity and anxiety, to dogs of all breeds facing noise sensitivity, separation issues, lead reactivity, and more, I’ve helped countless dogs reshaped and rebuild their emotional wellbeing.   Through our compassionate approach, we help your dog live with less anxiety or reactivity so they can experience more adventures with you by their side.
