Puppy & Beginners Training

Start Strong — Without the Frustration

Is your puppy biting, jumping up, ignoring you, or generally turning your life upside down?

If the idea of a busy group class doesn’t feel right for you or your dog, you’re in the right place.

For years, we have run puppy and beginner classes in village halls. But, what we consistently noticed was this:
Puppies who started with tailored 1:1 support at home, with the right socialisation plan in place, progressed faster, more confidently, and with far less stress — for both dog and human.

Some puppies simply don’t learn well in a class environment. Too many distractions, too much pressure, and not enough individual support. Rather than push dogs through a system that doesn’t suit them, we’ve chosen to put welfare, learning and real-life results first.

That’s why we’ve stepped away from in-person group puppy classes and now focus exclusively on personalised training that actually works.

Dogwarts Dog training

Whether you’ve just brought home your first puppy, welcomed a rescue dog, or feel your older dog needs a confidence reboot, this programme gives you the foundations for real-life success.

These 5 x 1:1 training sessions (held in person if local or online) are designed to take you from “oh my goodness, what have I done?” to “this makes sense, and it’s actually working.”

We focus on building focus, trust and calmness in a way that fits into real life, not just a training hall.

"If your perfect puppy is turning into a piranha or your dog is driving you crackers, this is where the magic begins."

What our Students Say

"Tracy has got us off to a fantastic start training our puppy Mango. Her approach is caring, professional and based on a wealth of knowledge and experience. Both Mango and my wife and I have seen us all take huge leaps forward and we would not have believed we could come so far in 5 weeks. The platform that we were able to use is excellent and we are signing up for more lessons. Highly recommended." - Paul, Lynn & Mango

" I contacted Tracy because I wanted to find suitable training for our puppy.  Tracy promptly contacted me to understand our individual situation and needs, which was extremely encouraging and helpful,  we talked through Tracy’s approach and how she could help us with puppy training. Following this I booked a one to one 5 week training course with Tracy to get us started and it was brilliant, such good fun and our puppy really loved it." - Simone & Freddie

Tracy Hancock

Welcome to Dogwarts K9 Academy the home for reactive and anxious dogs and also The Cockapoo Trainer where we specialise in this very misunderstood beautiful breed.  We help stressed-out dog parents finally overcome training struggles and fall back in love with their dogs through pressure-free, fun techniques that deliver real, lasting results.

As well as helping dogs of all breeds, I also specialise in Cockapoos and cases of reactivity and anxiety — supporting these sensitive pups and their guardians to transform challenging behaviours into calm confidence.

When you work with me, you get the kind of training your dog would choose if they could pick — because my approach teaches you to truly understand your dog, speak their language, and uncover the real meaning behind their behaviour.   This creates an unbreakable bond of trust that unlocks incredible progress — results that don’t just meet expectations, they surpass them.

I never use aversive methods or intimidation — you can trust that your training will always be judgement-free, pressure-free, and fear-free.  Instead, I teach fun, engaging techniques your dog relates to and enjoys, putting the joy back into your training sessions and making your results truly unstoppable.

Together, we break it all down — discovering your dog’s go-to responses, uncovering hidden triggers (which might surprise you), and rebuilding hope and harmony into your lives.

From Cockapoos who struggle with reactivity and anxiety, to dogs of all breeds facing noise sensitivity, separation issues, lead reactivity, and more, I’ve helped countless dogs reshaped and rebuild their emotional wellbeing.   Through our compassionate approach, we help your dog live with less anxiety or reactivity so they can experience more adventures with you by their side.
